Sound Healing Hertfordshire

What is Sound Healing?

Sound healing involves the application of sound through the voice and other instruments to balance the mind, body and spirit. Sound healing offers the possibility of a drug-free way of treating pain and illness, is simple to use and has no harmful side effects. Sound healing works on the principle that the body is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies and that illness or dis-ease is caused by disharmony within the body, mind and emotions. Sound healing helps to bring the body, mind and emotions back into harmony with our soul or spirit.

In general terms, sound healing can be thought of as the therapeutic use of sound and music for healing. More specifically, it embraces five broad areas of activity:

  • Vocal Expression: Toning, Singing, Chanting, Laughing
  • Using Instruments: Crystal bowls, drums, gongs, Tibetan Bowls, Tuning Forks and other musical instruments
  • Sound Healing Therapy: where a person receives a sound healing treatment from a sound healer
  • Self Healing: using sound healing exercises for self healing
  • Music: the use of music to relax, to reduce pain or assist before surgery.

During a sound healing treatment you will be asked to simply lie fully clothed on a treatment couch, after which the sound healer will use their voice to tone and sound into your body, alternating with periods of silence. Tuning forks and certain other instruments may also be used.

Benefits of Sound Healing

In my view, there is something for everyone within the field of sound healing. Simply by following whatever resonates with you in everyday life - and if my experience is anything to go by - you may well start to find more and more of what makes your heart sing, both literally and metaphorically.

Should you feel drawn to sampling a sound healing treatment, be assured that most people find sound healing to be a deeply relaxing experience which helps them to access their own innate healing power, often in unexpected ways. In my experience, sound healing can connect us to our very soul.

Sound Healing Testimonials

"Thank you for my three memorable sound healing treatments. The sounds you made connected me to healing images in my mind’s eye that I would otherwise not have experienced. One, like a soft lullaby sung by a mother’s voice from long ago times, seemed to connect me to all mothers the world over, down through the ages. We focussed our sessions for me upon the word 'abundance' and I’ve now taken up folk dancing as part of this process . A- bun-dance indeed!"
Ms A. N. Hertford, Hertfordshire

"I have been feeling more positive and confident since starting sound healing, with a new mind-set that ‘wonderful things are happening’. I have also not been worrying so much about my children, accepting the ongoing difficulties as an ‘interlude’."
Mrs J. A. Welwyn, Hertfordshire

"I really enjoyed the tuning forks, the journey of the tones and the ‘breathing’ sounds during my sound therapy session. I felt very nurtured throughout with a pervading sense that all the sounds were exactly what was needed and just right. Many many thanks."
Mrs K. S. Hitchin, Hertfordshire
